State Agrees to Refund

Soon, an estimated 56,000 elderly residents will get nearly every penny owed them by the state.

The State Budget and Control agreed Tuesday to pay up to $7.5 million to settle a lawsuit brought on behalf of the residents 85 and older who did not receive a one-cent sales tax exclusion as provided by law.
