By: George Rush, New York Daily News, December 9, 1997

Actor Edward James Olmos last night denied an allegation that he sexually assaulted a woman in South Carolina.

Police in Rock Hill, S.C. are investigating a complaint by a woman charging Olmos forced himself on her, the actor's lawyer, Richard Harpootlian, told the Daily News last night.

Harpootlian said the woman's complaint was "sexual" in nature, but he did not believe his client had been accused of rape or sodomy.

"Mr. Olmos is a celebrity, and you run the risk of these kinds of allegations and demands," he said.
