With more than 23 years of experience in the legal services industry, Tim Thames is Richard A. Harpootlian, P.A.’s legal technology manager. Tim began his career as a paralegal and transitioned into litigation support and eDiscovery. Prior to joining Richard A. Harpootlian, P.A., his eDiscovery work experience included corporate eDiscovery positions tasked with legal hold administration and eDiscovery workflow, law firm litigation support management, and data hosting manager in service provider environments.
A South Carolina native, Tim received a Bachelors of Arts in Art History and Philosophy from the University of South Carolina. He has an ABA Approved Certificate in Litigation from the National Center for Paralegal Training in Atlanta, Georgia and has attained Litigation Support Project Management and Litigation Support Management certifications from Document Technologies, Inc. in Atlanta. He also holds certifications and experience with litigation support applications including Summation, Concordance, Relativity, LAW, Logikcull, Cicayda Reprise, Clearwell, Ipro Eclipse, Ipro Eclipse SE and eDiscovery and forensic collection utilities.
Tim is well known in the South Carolina legal community from his work leading CLE’s locally and at national conferences on topics including trial support, eDiscovery and applying technology resources in litigation. He held leadership positions with local professional associations and is a member of the International Legal Technology Association, Association of Records Managers and Administrators, and the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists. In addition, Tim is an Adjunct Professor with Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC covering legal technology, law office management and eDiscovery coursework.
