Dram Shop victim’s family receives millions

A Florence County family received close to $5 million dollars for the death of their 23-year-old daughter who was hit and killed by a drunk driver and his passenger speeding down King Street in Charleston, South Carolina. The cadets had been binge drinking were speeding down King Street in an attempt to beat curfew at The Citadel. The driver was charged with felony driving under the influence.

The lawsuits alleged that the drunk driver acted in concert with his drunk passenger and that they were overserved alcohol while patrons at the bars.
